University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey goaltender duo Eve Gascon and
Tindra Holm have been named to the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association 2025 National Women's Goalie of the Year, two of 33 goaltenders named to the list.
Not only is Holm a three-time watch list honoree (2022, 2023), and Gascon a return selection (2024), but both netminders were named 2024 National Women's Goalie of the Year semifinalists, while Holm was also a semifinalists in 2023.
Currently, Gascon owns the fifth-highest saves percentage of any goaltender on the watch list with a .944 and a 1.62 goals against average that includes six wins against top-8 teams, complete with two shutouts. The native of  Mascouche, Quebec is 11-4-1 so far this season with the No. 4 Bulldogs, and owns four shutouts.
Holm currently has a 4-1-1 record with a 1.82 GAA and a .916 saves percentage. The native of Skellefteå, Sweden has two shutouts so far this season.
The award, created in 2021, has had at least one UMD goaltender become at least a semifinalist since its inception. Former All-American Emma Soderberg was top-3 finalist in 2023 after becoming a top-8 finalist in 2021.Â
The award was created in 2021 to recognize the top female goalie in NCAA Division I hockey. This initial "Watch List" of outstanding goalies is comprised of those with a goals against average of 2.10 or lower or a save percentage of .920 or higher. A committee of voters — made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, and media — will pare this list down within the next two weeks and then ultimately choose the winner who will be announced in March during the NCAA Frozen Four. NOTE: The process allows for goalies not on this first list to be considered before the first vote.
