After helping the No. 10/11 University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team sweep the University of Minnesota last weekend, sophomore goaltender Adam Gajan has been named the National College Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week.
The product of Poprad, Slovakia made 45 saves on 46 shots and recorded a 0.50 goals against average, as well as a .978 saves percentage, in 119:52 of action. Friday night, Gajan earned his first shutout of the season and his first-ever against a ranked opponent in the Bulldogs 3-0 defeat of the Gophers.
This is Gajan's second weekly conference honor this month and the fourth of his collegiate career.
One of only three goaltenders to have played eight games so far this season, Gajan is tied for first in the NCAA in wins (7), third in GAA (1.25), and among goaltenders with seven or more games, ranks first in wins, GAA and saves percentage.

Gajan and the Bulldogs will travel to Grand Forks, ND this weekend to face the No. 8 University of North Dakota to open up league play. The Friday-Saturday series will get underway at 7:00 p.m. Friday night before concluding at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
