Paige Heideman and
Olivia Gorton each picked up singles wins as the University of Minnesota Duluth Tennis Team fell to Minnesota Crookston in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action Saturday afternoon at the Gillett Wellness Center in Bemidji, Minn.
At No. 4 singles, Heideman defeated Ariadna Solis Guals 5-2 in the first set, before Solis Guals had to default for injury in the second set. Gorton won her first set at No. 6 singles vs. Abril Manas Hernandez 6-4, before dropping the second set 2-6. In the tiebreaker, Gorton came out on top with a 10-5 win.
The Bulldogs also picked up a victory at No. 2 doubles, as the team of Heideman and
Carly Chaney took down the team of Solis Guals and Asli Oktay 6-3.
UMD continues action at the Gillett Wellness Center Sunday with a 9:30 a.m. match vs. MSU Moorhead.
