Dani Potter (Sr.) and
Maureen Stormont (Jr.) were selected to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District 7 First Team, it was announced Thursday afternoon.
The 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District ® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.
Stormont leads the Bulldogs in scoring in 2013 with 12 goals and 28 points. Potter sits just behind her with 10 goals and 27 points after three scores last weekend. Senior Potter boasts a 3.79 GPA majoring in Exercise Science while junior Stormont is at 3.60 and seeking a Communication Science degree.
The selection entitles them to move on to the next round of voting for a possible selection for the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American team. The announcement of All-America selections will be made the week of Nov. 21.
