Box Score The University of Minnesota Duluth traveled to Bismarck, ND to take on the University of Mary on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs were unable to come out with a victory, losing ____ and dropping their record to 5-9-2 (3-8-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) while UMary improves to 9-3-2 overall (7-3-2 in the NSIC) on the year.
The first half consisted of little action to start. The first shot came early, coming from UMD just one minute in. The next shot from either team wouldn't come for the next 12 minutes, coming from UMary. The Marauders would strike twice in the half, scoring just four minutes apart. The first coming from Yasmina Dokara, coming from a pass from Hannah Ritcher at the 24 minute mark. Umary would strike again in the 27
th minute, coming from Hannah Ritcher off a pass from Samantha Guzman. The Marauders would finish with seven shots in the half, five of them going on net. UMD would put up one shot, that shot coming from senior midfielder
Emily Hinz. Her shot would be put on net.
The second half started with UMD getting the first two shots. One coming from freshman forward
Tiana DeGrande, and the second coming from freshman forward
Sarah Stange. That wouldn't phase the Marauders as they would go down to the Bulldogs end and put on past sophomore goalkeeper
Sophia Grenz. Sidney Burell would be the scorer, coming from a pass from Mailia Brudvik. UMary would strike again in the 79
th minute, coming Kylee Welch, Brudvik would get an assist.
Four Bulldogs, Hinz, sophomore defender
Megan Vatne, Degrande and Stange would each finish with a shot (all reaching the net). The Bulldogs finished with four shots, and four shots on goal. UMary would put up 10 shots, seven of them being on net. Grenz finished the afternoon with three saves.
The Bulldogs are back at home on Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Minn., playing host to Minot State at noon.
