BULLDOGS PUT ON THREE-POINT CLINIC IN WIN OVER WARRIORS

The University of Minnesota Duluth stayed perfect at home in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday night with an 80-59 victory over Winona State University. The Bulldogs, who have won two straight over the Warriors, have won all eight conference games at Romano Gymnasium this season.

UMD, winners of three straight, etched the 80-point mark for the first time this season and improved to 13-5 overall and 12-3 in the NSIC while Winona State fell to 10-9 and 8-7 in NSIC play.

It nailed 12 three-pointers, tying their season high, for the contest. The 12 triples was one short of tying the program single-game record.

The Bulldogs shot a season-high 60 percent including a blistering 52 percent in the first half with seven three pointers. UMD's hot start put the Warriors, who came into tonight with three victories in the last four contests, in a hole. The Bulldogs started 4-for-4 from three-point range and got out to a 16-5 lead early. Seven players had at least two bucket in the first 20 minutes as UMD opened its lead to as many as 16 points in the first half.

UMD compiled 26 assists and it assisted on eight of its first nine buckets. It ended up one assist shy of tying its season high. The Bulldogs connected on 33 buckets in 55 attempts.

Senior forward Emma Boehm posted 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Boehm drained all four triples she took including all three in the second half. The native of Eden Prairie, Minn. couldn't miss in the third quarter asd she has three of those three-pointers in the quarter. Boehm accounted for nine points alone in the third while the Warriors just scored 12 points in the quarter.

Freshman forward Brooke Olson was the other Bulldog to reach double figures. Olson had 12 points with six baskets and also collected a game-high six rebounds. Seven players had at least seven points for the Bulldogs and all five starters were apart of that previous grouping.

The Bulldogs return to the court tomorrow with Upper Iowa University in town. First tip is at 3:30 p.m.
