The University of Minnesota Duluth took on the Winona State University Warriors on Friday night, falling to WSU 85-57. The Bulldogs are now 16-5 overall on the year, going 11-4 against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents. The Warriors are now 12-9 on the year, going 9-6 against NSIC opponents.
UMD would shoot just 35.3% (18-51) from the floor, grabbing 31 rebounds and scoring seven 3-pointers. WSU would shoot 50.8% (31-61) from the floor, grabbing 36 rebounds and draining 16 3-pointers.
Myer would move into a standalone spot in third place on UMD's all-time scoring leaders list. With his seven points, Myer has 1,735 points in his career and looks to move to second, passing Mike Patterson (1,808). He also sits in fifth for rebounds, totaling 760 in his career.
Rohrscheib sits in fifth place all-time for 3-point field goals, carrying a 214 career total.
Senior guard Logan Rorhscheib would score a short 2-pointer to open scoring in the game. The Warriors would respond with a deep 3-pointer, followed by another 3-pointer to take a 6-2 lead. WSU would score a third straight 3-pointer before redshirt freshman guard
Drew Blair would score a layup. WSU would score a fourth 3-pointer but Rohrschieb would drain a shot from beyond the arc in response. The Bulldogs would trail the Warriors 14-9 into the first media timeout. The sides would battle for possession before WSU would take a 16-9 lead with 13:39 left in the game. Blair would score three free throws to respond. UMD would battle into the second media timeout of the half, Bulldogs trailing 21-16 to the Warriors. WSU would continue to score, grabbing a 13-point lead with 7:30 left in the half at 29-16. Freshman guard

Brandon Myer would score his first points of the game with a dunk to try and turn the momentum. Rorhscheib would drain a deep 3-pointer to chip lead to six, 32-26 with WSU calling a timeout with 4:28 left. The Warriors would slow the Bulldogs drive, scoring a 3-pointer out pf the timeout. WSU would continue to drain 3-pointers, dropping their ninth of the half with 1:25 left. The Bulldogs would call a timeout with 1:05 remaining, trailing 42-34. UMD would trail WSU heading into the 45-34.
Winona State would open scoring with another 3-pointer in the second half. After WSU would score a layup, Blair would drain a deep three in attempt to get the Bulldogs some momentum. Going into the first media timeout, UMD would trail WSU 55-39 with 14:52. Blair would score out of the timeout, but the Warriors would score a 3-pointer to respond. The Bulldogs would battle for possession but would trail by 22 with 12:27 left in the game. Myer would drive the lane, getting foul in the process, making one of two. Hunter Plamann scored a layup, Winona State would follow with yet another 3-pointer and a layup to retake the 22-point lead at 73-51. Heading into the final media timeout, UMD would trail by 22 at 75-53 with 3:53 remaining. The teams would go back and forth on possessions before the Warriors would nail another 3-pointer to take a 78-54 lead. Out of a WSU timeout, the Warriors would drain their 16th shot from beyond the arc with 1:06 remaining. The Bulldogs would ultimately fall to WSU 85-57.

Blair scored 15 points in the effort, grabbing five rebounds and one block. Rohrscheib would score 11, grabbing one rebound with two steals and three 3-pointers. Myer would be held to just seven points, four rebounds and two assists. Illikainen would score four, grabbing five rebounds. Senior guard
Trevor Entwisle would dish five assists.
The Bulldogs will close out the road trip with the Upper Iowa University Peacocks tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 PM.
