Last Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced the acquisition of forward and Bulldog Hockey alum
Joey Anderson via trade with the New Jersey Devils.
Anderson, 22, saw time in the 2019-20 season with both the New Jersey Devils and their American Hockey League affiliate the Binghamton Devils. Appearing in 18 games on the NHL circuit he recorded 4 goals and 2 assists, he appeared in 44 games in the AHL last season racking up 34 points on 15 goals and 19 assists.
Prior to his professional career Anderson, spent the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons with the Bulldogs appearing in 75 games for UMD. In those games he recorded 64 points on 23 goals and 41 assists, had a career plus minus rating of +25 and contributed offensively with 7 goals while being on the man power advantage. He capped off his Bulldog career by winning the 2018 National Championship with UMD.
