The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team will host Minnesota State University Moorhead on Friday night for Senior Night -- the last home game at Malosky Stadium this year -- before heading to Northern State University for a Halloween matchup.
The Bulldogs come into this weekend with a 2-11-2 record overall and a 2-8-2 record in the NSIC. The team saw its two wins come back-to-back in road victories against University of Minnesota Crookston and Concordia-St. Paul earlier this month. The team currently sits 14th in the NSIC standings.
MSU-Moorhead sits last in the conference at 16th with a 1-11 conference record and 1-14 overall record. The Dragons picked up their first win of the season against Winona State. The last matchup between the Dragons and Bulldogs resulted in a 1-1 draw. UMD is 9-1-2 against the Dragons since 2008 and have not lost to them at home in that time.
Friday's game, as the last home game of the season, will also mark Senior Night. Seven seniors -- Holly Kaboord, Mandy Conkel, Sophia Grenz, Shannon King, Ebelin Morales Benites, Becca Osborne, and Julia Osborne -- will be honored during halftime and after the game. These seven seniors have combined to play 236 games for the Bulldogs during their careers.
The team will then travel to Aberdeen, S.D., for a Sunday matchup against Northern State. The Wolves are currently sixth in the NSIC, sitting at 6-3-3 in the conference and 7-4-3 overall. Northern State is unbeaten in their last five games, recording five consecutive shutouts. The Wolves are currently ranked ninth in the Central Region.
UMD is 16-2-1 all-time against Northern State, and won the last meeting between the two programs in 2019 by a score of 2-0. The Wolves have not beaten the Bulldogs since 2015.
