UMD Baseball head coach Bob Rients announced Thursday that two Minnesota-native pitching standouts have signed a National Letter of Intent or Letter of Acceptance to join the Bulldogs for the 2022 season.  
 
The incoming players include LHP Isaac Benesh (Century College) and RHP Chad Fox (Century College). Benesh commits to UMD via a National Letter of Intent, while Fox joins the Bulldogs via Letter of Acceptance. Additionally, both Benesh and Fox were coached by former Bulldog Josh Threlkeld while at Century College.

Transfers to UMD from Century College … While with the Ducks, was named All-Region and Second Team All-American in 2021 … Lettered two years while at     St. Cloud Apollo High School … Was named to both the All-Conference and All-State teams in 2019 … Most Improved Player with Apollo in 2018 … Also lettered with the football team for one season as a long snapper.

Comes to UMD via transfer from Century College … Two-year starter at Totino-Grace High School … Was a quad-sport athlete while at Totino-Grace … Started and lettered all four years on the Trap Shooting team … Played center for the basketball team and wide receiver for the football team during his time as an Eagle … Both parents are UMD Alum.
