The Bulldogs had a tough matchup as they played against an Augustana tennis program that has been undefeated in the NSIC since 2010. Even though the Bulldogs lost, they were able to get every player on the team out on the court and Coach Worden was excited about it.
"Tonight was one of the fun nights where we were able to play everyone in our lineup in a home match. Augustana is always a tough battle for us, but we take our wins where we can find them. Each player this evening played better and had longer rallies as the match went on. As we continue to learn and grow this is the best thing we can ask from our athletes."
Worden also had a few words to share about
Laura Palmer and
Morgan Lueck.
"Laura came out strong at two doubles. It is great to be able to see her really hit out on the ball! I love Laura's on court demeanor during matches." "Morgan served strong at three doubles this evening. Her serves and volley's are some of the best that we have on the team. She also has some great rallies and based on those rallies we are able to see how great of a player she will continue to be in the future."
Laura and Morgan have been making strides with the Bulldogs and they also had a few words to share. "I think today was a great opportunity to go out and put our best effort out on the courts. The girls are positive and encouraging which makes it such a great experience being part of a team," said Laura.
"I thought everyone played amazing and kept their heads held high. It was awesome to see everyone's positive attitudes! I'm so excited to get to play with these ladies everyday! As always, GO DOGS!" said Morgan.
The Bulldogs only have one more home match this season, which is tomorrow afternoon (Feb. 12 at 1 p.m.) against Sioux Falls. The Bulldogs head to Moorhead, MINN. next weekend to take on Minnesota State University Moorhead and Bismarck, N.D. afterwards to play against the University of Mary.
