For the final home match of the season, the Bulldogs honored fifth year senior and team captain,
Isabel Resler. Coach Worden is incredibly proud of all her hard work and everything she's done for the team throughout her tenure.
"Today was our final home conference match and it was a great opportunity to celebrate our senior captain
Isabel Resler! Her dedication to the team for the past five years has truly been a huge reason that we have reached the next level! She leads the team on and off the court. She is always willing to help other players and bring them up along side of her!
Coach Worden also added a few words about junior
Mallory Lithun.
"Today was Mallory's best showing at number one singles. I extremely loved seeing her second set play. She was able to bring out weapons and strategies that she had not used this season. She continues to get better point by point and I cannot wait to see her in the next match!
We also got to hear from the captains themselves,
Isabel Resler and
Mallory Lithun.
"I'm super proud of how hard we fought today. No one gave, up no matter what the score was. We had some tough losses but I felt we were able to keep the energy up throughout the whole match," said Resler.
"Everyone gave it their all today at the match, and I couldn't be more proud of these ladies! The hard work and effort the team is putting in shows so much, and it makes me so happy to be a part of such a supporting and loving group of women. I'm so excited for our future matches that have yet to come," said Lithun.
The final Bulldogs home match of the season was also the teams Mental Health Awareness match of the season. UMD Athletics have been working with the Green Bandana Project in order to end the stigma of mental illness. The Bulldogs support those who are struggling and spread awareness every day. You can see those who are physically hurt; but no one can see the invisible illness that effects one in every five adults every year. You can follow the UMD Green Bandana Project on twitter

The Bulldogs will make their way to Moorhead, MINN. next weekend to take on Minnesota State Moorhead and the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. the following day.
