NO. 13 BULLDOGS FINISH REGULAR SEASON 13-0 AT HOME, CAP OFF FIRST UNDEFEATED SEASON AT HOME SINCE 1990-91 SEASON

With tonight's win, the Bulldogs completed an 13-0 record at home during the regular season. This is the first time the Bulldogs have gone undefeated at home since the 1990-91 season!

Duluth, Minn. – The No. 13 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs hosted the Bemidji State Beavers on Thursday night. In what was a strong offensive night, the Bulldogs went on to win 88-73. With the win your North Division Champions improved to 22-4 (15-4).
 
The Bulldogs started to game hot as they got baskets on their first two possessions from Charlie Katona and Austin Andrews. The Beavers answered as teams traded baskets to start the game. A pair of Austin Andrew free throws tied the game at 8-8 with 16:15 remaining in the first half. From there, the Bulldogs offense exploded over the next three minutes as they used a 14-0 run to take a 22-8 lead with 13:13 left in the half. The Bulldogs continued their strong offensive half as they extended their lead to 17 points as a pair of Joshua Brown free throws gave the Bulldogs a 30-13 lead. From there, teams continued to battle and trade baskets as the Beavers managed to slightly cut into the Bulldogs lead. Teams continued to battle down the stretch as the Beavers hit a three late in the half to cut the Bulldogs lead down to 48-37 at halftime. The Bulldogs had a trio of players in double figures in the first half as Joshua Brown had 13 points, Drew Blair had 11 and Austin Andrews had 10. Overall, the Bulldogs shot 19-37 (51.4%) from the field and 5-13 (38.5%) from three-point range. The Beavers shot 16-34 (47.1%) from the field and 3-8 (37.5%) from three-point range.
 
The Beavers started the second half strong as they cut the Bulldogs lead to single digits early in the half. A Drew Blair layup and a Charlie Katona dunk pushed the Bulldogs lead back to double digits as they led 56-43 with 16:20 remaining in the second half. The Bulldogs continued to increase their lead as they managed to extend their lead to 18 points thanks to an Austin Andrews layup. The Beavers responded by cutting the Bulldogs lead down to just 11 points thanks to a pair of layups. A three-pointer from Drew Blair in transition once again extended the Bulldogs lead to 14 points as they led 70-56 with 10:20 remaining in the second half. Teams continued to trade baskets as an nice pass from Joshua Strong led to a Charlie Katona three-pointer as the Bulldogs led 73-58 with 7:52 left in the second half. Teams continued to trade baskets down the stretch as Charlie Katona and Jack Middleton hit back-to-back layups to extend the Bulldogs lead to 79-62. Joshua Brown put the exclamation mark on the game as he hit a three-pointer and then a fast break dunk to extend the Bulldogs lead to 86-71 with 1:41 left in the game. The Bulldogs managed to control the game down the stretch as they were able to empty the bench down the stretch as the Bulldogs went on to win the game 88-73. The Bulldogs shot 17-34 (50%) from the field and 4-9 (44.4%) from three-point range in the second half. Bemidji State shot 14-30 (46.7%) from the field and 6-12 (50%) from three-point range.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Drew Blair and Joshua Brown who both had 20 points on the night. Charlie Katona added 19 points while Austin Andrews added 16 points. Andrews and Jack Middleton led the team with 7 rebounds on the night. Drew Blair and Joshua Strong led the team with 4 assists each. Katona added 3 steals on the night while Andrews added a pair of blocks. Overall, the Bulldogs shot 36-71 (50.7%) from the field and 9-22 (40.9%) from three-point range. They also shot 7-11 from the foul line.
 
The Beavers were led by Derek Thompson who had a game high 26 points on the night.  John Sutherland added 11 rebounds to lead the Beavers. Mohamed Kone also added 6 assists on the night to lead the team. Overall, the Beavers shot 30-64 (46.9%) from the field and 9-20 (45%) from three-point range. They also shot 4-11 from the foul line.

The No. 13 Bulldogs will travel to face Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at 5:30 pm for their regular season finale.
