"Today our doubles teams came out firing! It was great to see them start out strong and battle the entire way through. One Doubles pulled out a phenomenal tiebreaker win!"
Coach Worden also provided some words on
Laura Palmer's play on the court.
"Laura battled so incredibly hard today on court! She was hustling every single ball down and playing smart! She was the first one on and the last one off the court in singles today, and never once did she give up on the ball. I admire her great work and tenacity and the ability to pull out a win!"
Freshman
Morgan Lueck also shared her thoughts on the team's performance from today's match.
"I think that everyone played amazing!! We had an incredible first match. Our doubles came out super strong and singles finished out the same way!! Overall, it was still a great start to the weekend!"
Despite the loss, junior
Laura Palmer loved the team's work ethic in their matches.
"Even with the long drive to Winona, we were able to come out with great energy on the courts and the team was very supportive of each other. It was a great first day of matches and I'm looking forward to playing tomorrow!"
The Bulldogs will stay in Winona as they go up against Upper Iowa tomorrow (March 20th) at 1:45pm.
