Box Score The Minnesota Duluth Tennis team took on the Upper Iowa Peacocks today in Winona, MINN. This was the second of their two matches this weekend and the Bulldogs had another tough matchup. The team won one of their three doubles matches and one of their six singles matches. The lineup stayed the same for the most part. Head Coach
Jessica Worden switched up one of the doubles pairings and one of the singles matches.
Doubles
Shay Callaway and
Mallory Lithun played together as the No. 1 pairing and they lost their match 5-7. The duo now have have a 2-3 doubles record.
In the No. 2 position
Isabel Resler and
Abby Johnson were paired together again. The pair lost their match 1-6 and have a doubles record of 0-3.
The final pairing in doubles play was occupied by
Laura Palmer and
Olivia Honsey. The pairing won their match 6-4 and hold a doubles record of 1-0.
Singles
Shay Callaway was back in the No. 1 position and lost both of her sets 1-6. Callaway now has a singles record of 3-7.
In the No. 2 position was
Mallory Lithun and she lost her sets 5-7 and 2-6. Lithun now holds an 0-5 singles record.
Captain
Isabel Resler played in the No. 3 position and lost her sets 5-7 and 0-6. Resler now holds a singles record of 1-9.
Behind Resler, at the No. 4 position, was
Abby Johnson. Johnson lost her match with set scores of 1-6 and 4-6. Johnson now has a singles record of 4-5.
Amanda Hanowski followed in the No. 5 position and she lost her match with set scores 1-6 and 4-6. Hanowski holds a singles record of 0-9.
In the final singles position was
Olivia Honsey. Honsey won her sets 6-1 and 6-2 giving her a singles record of 6-4.

The Bulldogs lost their match 1-6 to Upper Iowa and hold an overall record of 2-8.
After the team's lost, we heard from Assistant Coach
Leo Paredes, freshman
Amanda Hanowski, and junior
Allison Jondahl.
"The girls found a tough competition over the weekend, but we are very proud of the way that they faced it and fought through it," said Paredes.
"It's fun to play teams that are better than you because it pushes you to play your best tennis! We're only improving our game which made it a fun weekend," said Hanowski
"It was a long trip down here, and the competition was tough but we came out and played some great matches," said Jondahl
The Bulldogs will travel back home to Duluth and take on Wisconsin-Superior in a border showdown on Friday, March 25th. The team will then hit the road to go up against St. Cloud State the following day.
