Wayne, Neb. -- The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs traveled to Wayne, Nebraska to face off against the Mary Marauders. Despite a 3-run top of the fourth, the Bulldogs dropped the first game of the three game series 7-3.
The Marauders got the scoring going in the first inning as they managed to score three runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a RBI single to right field and then a two-RBI double to left center. The Marauders continued the scoring in the bottom of the second as they added a run on a sacrifice fly to right field to make it a 4-0 score. The Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the fourth inning as

Brodie Paulson continued his hot hitting as he hit a two run home run to left field to make it a 4-3 Marauder lead. The Marauders got back on the board in the top of the 6th as they scored two runs in the inning thanks to a pair of doubles. They went on to add another run in the top of the 7th inning thanks to another double to left field. The Bulldogs mounted a late rally attempt in the top of the 9th inning, but were not it came up short as they lost the game 7-3.Â
Brodie Paulson continued his power streak as he went 2-3 on the day with a double and a home run. He also tallied 2 RBI and scored a run, while also drawing a walk.
Sam Tanner went 2-3 on the day while also drawing a walk.
Tim Pokornowski also added a RBI on the day.
Trevor Gustafson drew three walks on the day as well.
Zach Kuseske got the start today and went 4.0 innings and allowed 4 hits and 4 earned runs.Â
The Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow as they will finish their three-game series against Mary with a double header. First game starts at 12:00 PM.Â
