UMD SOCCER'S EIGHTH ANNUAL KICKS FOR CAUSES CAMPAIGN GETS UNDERWAY SATURDAY

The University of Minnesota Duluth's soccer team's eighth annual Kicks For Causes season-long community service campaign gets underway Saturday afternoon during the Bulldogs match with Northern Michigan University on Griggs Field at 1:00 p.m.

Senior defenseman Eliana Marciano will highlight Mother's Against Drunk Driving Saturday in UMD's first Kicks For Causes of the season.  MADD, a first-time Kicks For Causes choice, will become one of the now over 38 different organizations since 2014 chosen by 52 current and former Bulldog players and welcomed to Malosky Stadium.

"This is a tradition for years at UMD soccer, and I am really glad to be a part of it after seeing other seniors do it for the past few years ahead of me," said Marciano. "It's a really important part of our program and for our upperclassmen to partake in."

MORE ABOUT KICKS FOR CAUSES: What began has an opportunity for a few of the upper-classmen to give back to the community has become a tradition unlike any other in college soccer. Dating back to 2014, Kicks for Causes quickly became a commutable service that embodied the characteristics of the Bulldog soccer program. Designated home matches are established throughout the season as a way for players to give back to the community by having the student-athletes select organizations to highlight of their choice and that the student-athletes then work directly with.
