The 43rd annual University of Minnesota Duluth Maroon-White Spring Game is set to take place this Friday (April 21) and this year's event will once again focus on helping those in need. Admission to the intrasquad scrimmage is free, but those attending are asked to bring a food or clothing item to donate to Champ's Cupboard. Collection bins will be placed outside the main entrance area of James S. Malosky Stadium.
In addition, Famous Dave's will provide concessions prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff and also have a concession stand open that night. A free
UMD Youth Football Clinic for children grades 3-8, will precede the game, running from 4 p.m. (check in) to 5:45 p.m. at Malosky Stadium. Fans can park for free in Maroon Lot G (the UMD pay lot) after
2:30 p.m. as well as the White S Lots (White) on St. Marie Street.
Rosters have been set for 2017 Maroon-White Game as the 69 participants were divided up via a player draft this past Monday night. Friday's event will be run as a regulation game with a few exceptions -- the first and second quarters will be 10 minutes and third and fourth quarters will be seven minutes, the ball will be placed at the 25-yard line following each kickoff, and all turnovers will be blown dead.
