The Minnesota Duluth men's track & field team broke school records and posted multiple PR's while competing across Friday and Saturday at the SDSU Indoor Classic and the Maday Classic.
On Friday evening at the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, SD,
Nick Jacobson and
Matthew Trutna each stepped up in the men's 5000 meter run. Jacobson broke UMD's indoor 5000 meter school record with a mark of 14:27.88. The time is also a personal record for Jacobson.
Trutna followed it up with a time of 14:46.09, which is also a personal record. On Saturday afternoon,
Christian Leonard's PR time of 4:09.71 in the one mile run is the second fastest mile in UMD history. The mark garnered Leonard a top five finish in the event and was also a provisional time. In the men's shot put,
Colton Kostynick turned in a strong performance with a distance of 15.96m, which earned him a top ten finish at the SDSU Indoor Classic.

On Saturday at the Maday Classic at UWS,
Kyle Kucera turned in a PR of 9.73 in the men's 60 meter hurdles. In the 400 meter dash,
Alex Kulzer tallied a time of 51.51 to grab first-place, while teammate
Alexander Croston finished close behind in third-place with a mark of 52.96. The Bulldogs also did some damage in the field.
Luke Oberleitner,
Avery Hunt, and
Shea Alto all notched first-place finishes in high jump, long jump, and pole vault, respectfully.
Next Up
The Bulldogs will head down to Minneapolis on Friday for their next meet at the University of Minnesota.
