University of Minnesota Duluth soccer sophomore goaltender
Edy Halverson was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Goalkeeper of the Week Monday for her shutout effort against No. 7 Minnesota State University, Mankato on Sunday.
The native Mendota Heights, Minn. had four saves and held the Mavericks scoreless on four corner kick attempts in 9- minutes played in the Bulldogs 3-0 upset of MSU. The shutout was Halverson's fifth of the season -- Halverson also earned a combined shutout against Minot State University on Sept. 27 and has been a part of all six shutouts UMD has had this season.
This marks the Bulldogs first NSIC weekly honor of the season.Â
UMD will hit the road on Friday to Moorhead, Minn. to face Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
