The University of Minnesota Duluth lost their first game of the weekend against Minnesota State University-Moorhead, 93-76. UMD falls to 2-2 overall (1-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference). MSU-Moorhead improves to 5-2 (5-0 NSIC).

The game started off with the Dragons shooting a scorching 65.4% (17-26) from the field and 50% (4-8) on 3-pointers in the first half while the Bulldogs shot 52% (13-25) from the field but only shot 25% (2-8) on 3-pointers. UMD also turned the ball over nine times in the first half, which the Dragons scored 17 points on. UMD forced eight turnovers and only scored 2 points from those picks.

After halftime, UMD never came closer than nine points as the Dragon's cruised to their fifth straight victory.

Overall, UMD shot 49.1% (26-53) from the field, 25% (5-20) on 3-pointers, 67.9% (19-28) from the free throw line and were out rebounded by MSU-Moorhead 38-20. The Dragons shot 54.5% (30-55) from the field, 35% (7-20) on 3-pointers and 83.9% (26-31) from the free throw line.
