Holds the distinction of being one of just four Bulldogs to earn All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association honors three times (second team in 1996-97 and third team in both 1995-96 and 1997-98) ... Skated a regular shift in 153 out of a possible 154 career games and racked up 80 goals (the eighth highest total in team history) and 83 assists for 163 points. – good for 16th place on UMD’s all-time scoring charts ... Became the third individual to lead UMD in points for three successive seasons (1995-98) and reach the 20-goal mark on three occasions ... Captained the 1997-98 Bulldogs to a memorable first-round playoff series win over arch-rival Minnesota and a berth in the WCHA Final Five Tournament ... Was named UMD’s Outstanding Senior Male Athlete for 1997-98 ... Suited up for Team U.S.A. at the 2000 IIHF World Championships ... Launched his NHL career during the 2001-02 season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks and went on to play 38 NHL games with both Chicago and Philadelphia ... Also did time with the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates, Worcester Ice Cats, Norfolk Admirals and Philadelphia Phantoms before retiring from the professional ranks in 2003-04 ... Took part in three AHL All-Star Games ... Assumed the head boy's hockey coach post at his alma mater, Bismarck (N.D.) High School, in 2008-09 and five years later directed the Demons to their first-ever North Dakota state title after posting runnerup finishes in both 2008 and 2010 ... Was voted the 2013-14 high school male team coach of the year by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association ... Has been a professional walleye angler since 1998 and continues to be active on the Professional Walleye Tour ... Graduated from UMD in 1998 with a B.S. degree in community health.
