Was a major force on four Bulldog clubs which rolled up an 81-18 overall record, captured three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships (1958-59, 1960-61 and 1961-62), made two NAIA National Tournament appearances (1958 and 1959) and posted the school’s initial postseason victory in 1958 ... Ranked as UMD’s second all-time leading scorer (1,617 points) and its top field goal shooter (.634) when he exited the Bulldog program in 1962 ... Averaged 19.9 points per game as a senior which was, at the time, the second highest single-season figure in team history ... Currently holds down the No. 5 spot on the all-time Bulldog charts in that same category (16.8 points per outing) ... Became the first (and only)  Bulldog ever to be selected in the NBA draft in 1962 when the Los Angeles Lakers made him their ninth-round choice (77th selection overall) ... Graduated from UMD in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business ...  Virginia, Minn., native.
