A two-time NCAA All-American and All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association first team honoree (1977-78 and 1978-79) ... Minnesota-Duluth's team captain and its Most Valuable Player both of those seasons ... anchor of the 1978-79 Bulldog club which placed third in the final WCHA standings -- the first time Minnesota-Duluth had ever finished in the league's upper division ... enrolled at Minnesota-Duluth as a 16-year-old freshman in the fall of 1975 ... shares the Bulldog record (with fellow Hall of Fame inductee Keith "Huffer" Christiansen) for most points (six, which he accomplished twice) and assists (six) in a game ... named Minnesota-Duluth's Outstanding Senior Athlete for 1978-79 ... joined the Minnesota North Stars in 1979 to launch a National Hockey League career which has spanned over a dozen years ... member of two Stanley Cup finalists teams (1981 and 1991) ... three-time recipient of the Bill Masterton Memorial Cup as the North Stars' Most Valuable Player (1980-81, 1984-85, 1988-89) ... became the North Stars' career leader in games played by a defenseman last winter ... captured the Tom Dill Award (Minnesota's top defenseman) on five occasions during the past seven years ... skated with the New York Rangers for portions of the 1986-87 and 1988-89 seasons before being traded back to the North Stars on Nov. 20, 1987 ... born and raised in The Pas, MAN.
