Put a huge exclamation point on his sensational senior season in 2003-04 by claiming college hockey's highest honor -- the Hobey Baker Memorial Award ... Also secured American Hockey Coaches Association All-American recognition that winter and was selected the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year after pacing the nation in scoring (63 points), goals (32) and power play tallies (14) ... Picked up 15 of those points during the 2003-04 postseason while helping lead UMD to its first NCAA Frozen Four berth in 19 years ... Made the all-tournament teams at the 2004 NCAA Frozen Four and NCAA Midwest Regional ... Was both the USCHO.com and insidecollegehockey.com National Player of the Year in 2004 ... Received UMD’s Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Award for 2003-04... Signed a free agent contract with the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars two weeks after the conclusion of his Bulldog career) ... proceeded to skate in 27 games over three NHL seasons with the Stars (2005-08) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (2007-08) ... Spent a total of eight years playing professionally, including five in the American Hockey League, until calling it a career in 2012-13 ... Was chosen to the 21-member All-DECC team (which was voted on by Bulldog hockey alumni in 2010) ... Is a native of St-Joseph de Beauce, Quebec.
